London Sports: Red Bull Art Of Motion, Great Spatial Fields Pancake Race, Canary Wharf Squash Classic

Watch daredevils perform awe-inspiring stunts at the Red Bull Art Of Motion event at 6:00pm on 20 March 2011. During this event, free runners will display their skills by navigating the interlocked terraces of National Theatre. During the 1st round, a panel of 4 parkours will judge the competitors based on their creativity, execution, flow and the complexity of their stunts over a period of 80 seconds. The top 12 contestants will move on to the 2nd round, where the final winner will be selected.

Great Spatial Fields Pancake Race will be held on 8 March 2011, at 12:30pm. In order to take part in the relay race, participants must register themselves in groups of 4. The racers are required to run along Dray Walk while flipping the pancakes in their frying pans. Besides the race, a fancy dress competition will also be conducted, wherein the most eccentrically dressed team will bag the ‘best dressed team’ prize.

Watch Gregory Gaultier, David Palmer, Saurav Goshal, Daryl Selby, Adrian Wller, Tarek Momen, Peter Barker, Thiery Lincou and other squash stars in action during Canary Wharf Squash Classic, from 21 to 25 March 2011. Nick Matthew, the Commonwealth Games and World Squash champion, is also scheduled to take part in the competition. The matches are being held in East Wintergarden, at 4:30pm. The cost of the tickets ranges between £15 and £35.

London Sports: Fitness Classes For New Mothers, London Rollergirls: Season 3 – Bout 4, Play On Sports, Championship Boxing

Pregnancy and post natal fitness expert for mothercare, Vicky Warr, is organising a programme aimed at creating post-natal fitness in new mothers. Core conditioning, pilates and total fitness toning exercises comprise the sessions. New moms, along with their babies, can book a 4, 6, or 12-week course with each class being priced at £11. The fitness classes will be held at Piccolo Caffe, Hogarth Youth Centre, Duke Road, Chiswick, till 25 February 2011.

London Rollergirls: Season 3 – Bout 4, is to be held on 12 February 2011. Ultraviolent Femmes, Harbour Grudges, Suffra Jets and Steam Rollers are set to fight it out in stakes, at Brompton Hall, Earls Court Exhibition Centre, Warwick Road, London, from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Tickets for the event are priced at £15 and £7 for adults and children respectively.

Play On Sports, an indoor sports centre is hosting action cricket, 5-a-side-football, and 6 & 7-a-side-netball competitions. Players are set to compete from14-18 February 2011, from 10:00am to 10:30pm.the sports centre is situated at 100 Prestons Road, Canary Wharf, and an entry fee of £5-£10 is being charged.

Championship Boxing, the event in which a number of bigwigs are set to box their way to the British Welterweight Title, will be held at the Wembley Arena, Arena Square, Engineers Way, Wembley, on 19 February 2011, from 6:15pm. Tickets are priced between £30 and £100.

London Sports: London Bicycle Tour Company And Revolutionary Karting

The London Bicycle Tour Company was founded by Rob, a man who owes his extensive knowledge of London to cycling through the city. The company rents out its bicycles on an hourly basis (at £3.50 per hour), on a day basis (at £20 on the first day, £10 on the 2nd and 3rd days, and £5 on the 5th and 6th), and on a weekly basis (at £50 for the first week and £15 for the 2nd and 3rd). The company conducts various tours: the East Tour, the Royal West Tour and the Central London Tour. Each tour covers various tourist spots and improves the participants’ knowledge of London’s history. The company is located at 1a Gabriels Wharf, 56 Upper Ground, London.

Revolutionary Karting, located in East End, is London’s only outdoor course. One can jump into an environment friendly electric kart that reaches a speed of 50 mph and race on a challenging track of 650 meters. Individual karts, as well as mini grand prixes are available. Those under the age for 18 can avail themselves of the open practice sessions at a price of £20 per person for 16 laps. Adults may participate in open racing session at £20 per person for 16 laps. London Sports – 2012 Olympics, Chesfield Lakes Golf Course And Olympics Track In London

The British Olympic Association (BOA) is yet to finalize the sports that Great Britain will participate in. As the host, BOA feels it that is necessary to permit only those teams that are sure to put up a commendable performance. British Handball team has made its last plea for participation in the 2012 Olympics, and the result will be made public only early next week. The women’s handball team has which narrowly missed qualifying for the 2011 World Championship, while the men’s handball team recorded their first competitive international victory in June 2010.

The Chesfield Lakes Golf Course is an 18-holes, par 71 parkland and wooded course measuring 6112 yards, located in the Kent countryside. The layout of the course is challenging for both beginners and professionals. The golf course permits not only golfers, but also those seeking relaxation. A short-game practice area and a 9-hole par 3 course area, - a recent addition to the course – complete the course.

Frankie Fredericks, the sprint legend who is the chairman of the International Olympic Committee’s athletic commission, and Usain Bolt have expressed hope that the 2012 Olympics athletic in London will be kept intact even after the Olympics. The Olympic Park Legacy Company is to announce its decision on the issue on 28 January 2011, which will be supported by Mayor Boris Johnson.

London Sports – The Masters - Snooker, Poledancing And The Atco Psa World Series Squash Finals

The Wembley Arena, Empire Way, will host The Masters, a snooker competition where the best players battle it out with their cues for the top prize money of £150,000. The trophy is engraved with the names of the best in the sport. The competition will take place from 9 to 16 January 2011. The war of the cues will be held at 1:30pm and 7:00pm from 9 to 14 January, at 1:00pm and 7:30 on 15 January, and 2:00pm and 8:00pm on 16 January. Entry tickets are priced at £10.

The London Academy Of Poledancing is offering free taster classes at The Waldorf Hilton Hotel London, Aldwych, City Of London. Poledancing does not require one to be slim, extremely flexible or energetic. It is increasingly being considered an exciting way of keeping fit. The classes will be held from 7:30pm to 8:30pm on 10 January, and from 8:15pm to 9:15pm on 12 January 2011. No admission fees are charged. The academy’s teachers will teach the people present basic Poledancing steps including spins, transitions and floor work. The teachers will also perform a routine that shows all the moves one will be taught in Level 1. All those interested must assemble at the venue wearing gym gear.

The ATCO PSA World Series Squash Finals is being held at The Queen’s Club, Palliser Road, South Kensington London. In an attempt to create a cheerful atmosphere, the matches will be preceded by an exhibition match between Alison Waters and Jenny Duncalfe, followed by a theatrical introduction of the court cleaners. The finals will be held from 11 to 15 January 2011.

London Sports - Funland, Brockwell Park, Goals, Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre

Funland, located in Trocadero Centre, Piccadilly Circus, offers its visitors the ultimate bowling experience. The bowling alley consists of ten full size lanes, while UV lights and music create a cheerful atmosphere. A standard bowling game is priced at £6.95 (shoe hire included), but various offers are discounts are available for families, students and groups.

Brockwell Park, a historic park located between Brixton, Dulwich and Herne Hill, provides its visitors with many sports facilities. Sport facilities include basketball, football and tennis courts, bowling alley, cricket grounds and a purpose-built BMX track. All these facilities together make Brockwell Park a good sports venue, as so many different sports come together under one roof.

Goals is an organisation that serves football-lovers. In London, Goals has its centers in Heathrow, Hayes, Ruislip, Wembley, Gillette Corner, Sutton, Wimbledon, Tolworth, Eltham, Beckenham North, Beckenham, Chingford, Dagenham, Bexlyheath and Dartford. Goals encourages 5-a-side football. The football ground is made of all-weather, rubber crumb, synthetic grass, and floodlights are available to light up and evening game. The centres ae open from 9:00am to 11:00pm. Professionals can be hired to train 5-a-side football players.

Broxbourne White Water Canoe Centre is at present under construction, and will host slalom canoeing and slalom kayaking in the 2012 Summer Olympics. Situated on the edge of the Lee Valley Regional Park, Hertfordshire, the centre will seat 12,000 spectators. The slalom canoe/kayak courses created for the Olympics, will be open to the public after the Games.

London Sports - Tower Paintball, The London Archers, Kempton Park Racecourse

Tower Paintball, with three different game zones spread over 50,000 square feet, is open for everyone above 12yrs of age. Located in Central London, a two-minute walk away from London Bridge Station, the venue for an ultimate experience of paintball is open seven days a week. There are 3 sessions per day, 10:00am-1:30pm, 2:00pm-5:30pm, and 6:30pm-10:00pm. Tower Paintball offers different packages with prices ranging between £15 and £80.
The London Archers is an archery club with a summer field in Kensington Palace, and an indoor range at a church hall in Pimlico. The club believes it is not advisable for children below 13yrs of age to practice archery, and so only those above 13yrs of age are permitted to become a member. For those who have not shot before, a summer training program is conducted by the club. All those who have had some experience in archery are always welcomed to become members. Full adult membership is £74 per annum.
Kempton Park Racecourse, Staines Road East, Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex, which opened in 1878, now hosts flat and jump racing throughout the year. The William Hill King George VI Race and the Christmas Hurdle Race will be held on 27th December, 2010. Entrance gates will open at 9:30am on Monday, and tickets will be sold at £10, £18 and £25
